Basketball Game Preview: Gar-Field Red Wolves vs. Massaponax Panthers

Two dominant guards in Jonathan Jason Bell and Collin Bowles are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Gar-Field Red Wolves will square off against the Massaponax Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Gar-Field is coming into the match on a four-game losing streak.

Gar-Field is headed into the game having just suffered their closest loss since February 13, 2024 on Tuesday. They fell just short of Charles J. Colgan by a score of 57-54. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Red Wolves have suffered against the Sharks since January 6, 2021.

Meanwhile, Massaponax unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Tuesday. They took a 73-65 hit to the loss column at the hands of Brooke Point.

Gar-Field's loss dropped their record down to 12-8. As for Massaponax, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-7.

Gar-Field beat Massaponax 57-48 in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for Gar-Field since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
