Softball Recap: Thomas Jefferson Drops Season-High Score on Jefferson RISE Charter

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Thomas Jefferson). They blew past Jefferson RISE Charter 26-8 on Thursday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Thomas Jefferson also won the last time the pair played back in March of 2024.

Caitlin Baldwin was incredible, scoring four runs and stealing four bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Those four stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Celeste Ward, who scored four runs and stole four bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

Thomas Jefferson always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .838. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive contests.

Thomas Jefferson's victory bumped their record up to 4-6. As for Jefferson RISE Charter, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Thomas Jefferson has already played their next matchup, a 13-10 defeat against Kenner Discovery Health Sciences Academy on the 22nd. As for Jefferson RISE Charter, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 22-3 loss against Fisher on the 25th.
