Northfield extends road winning streak to four

Recap: Northfield Norsemen vs. Madison-Grant Argylls

The Northfield Norsemen posted their biggest victory since December 5, 2023 on Thursday. Everything went their way against Madison-Grant as Northfield made off with a 60-36 victory. Winning is a bit easier when you outrebound your opponent 18 to 1 on the offensive boards, as Northfield did.

Hannah Holmes was her usual excellent self, scoring 18 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Elli Baker, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds and two steals.

When it comes to explaining why Madison-Grant lost, one person who can't be blamed is Maddy Moore. Despite the final result, she scored 14 points along with five steals. Moore has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last 12 times she's played. Madalee Holloway was another key contributor, scoring five points along with two blocks.

Madison-Grant struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only an offensive rebound. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Northfield's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-11. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.3 points per game. As for Madison-Grant, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-13.

Northfield will head out on the road to challenge Whitko at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Whitko will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak. As for Madison-Grant, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Alexandria-Monroe at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Alexandria-Monroe presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Madison-Grant in Indiana (Alexandria-Monroe is ranked 88th, while Madison-Grant is ranked 304th).
