Soccer Recap: Homestead Falls Short of Miami Beach in the Playoffs

Homestead and Miami Beach squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Homestead had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Miami Beach Hi-Tides by a score of 3-2. While losing is never fun, the Broncos can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 105th, while the Hi-Tides are ranked 22nd).

Christopher Gonzalez wasn't going to let Miami Beach walk away unscathed as he scored both of Homestead's goals, bringing his season total up to seven goals.

The loss snapped Homestead's winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 9-2-3 record. As for Miami Beach, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-3-2.

Homestead does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Miami Beach, they will challenge Braddock at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Braddock is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 2.8 goals per game this season.
