Basketball Game Preview: Wheatland-Grinnell Thunderhawks vs. Logan/Palco

Wheatland-Grinnell is 0-7 against Logan/Palco since December of 2020 but things could change on Friday. The Wheatland-Grinnell Thunderhawks will challenge Logan/Palco at 7:30 p.m.

Wheatland-Grinnell came up short against Ness City on Friday, falling 74-48. The Thunderhawks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Logan/Palco put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They took their contest with ease, bagging an 87-25 win over Triplains/Brewster. Logan/Palco has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine games by 24 points or more this season.

Wheatland-Grinnell better focus on containing Rhett Kats and Case Ashmore as the pair were huge in Logan/Palco's win. Kats went 13 for 18 on his way to 28 points along with eight boards and six assists, while Ashmore went 9 of 15 en route to 19 points in addition to six rebounds and six steals. The matchup was Kats' 16th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ethan Gaschler, who went 6 of 7 on his way to 13 points.

Logan/Palco smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since back in February of 2024.

Wheatland-Grinnell's loss dropped their record down to 5-8. As for Logan/Palco, their victory bumped their record up to 14-0.

Wheatland-Grinnell took a serious blow against Logan/Palco when the teams last played back in January, falling 56-21. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Kats, who went 8 for 14 en route to 25 points along with eight boards and six assists.
