After losing to Nichols the last time they met, North Tonawanda decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The North Tonawanda Lumberjacks narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Nichols Vikings 55-53. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Lumberjacks.

North Tonawanda got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Ella Cashion out in front who went 7 for 12 on her way to 17 points and seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Annabelle Day, who posted 15 points and seven rebounds.

Despite the loss, Nichols still got an impressive performance from Evelyn Walcott, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 11 rebounds. The dominant performance gave Walcott a new career-high in points. Madisen Wilson was another key player, putting up ten points.

North Tonawanda's record now sits at 2-0. As for Nichols, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

North Tonawanda will host Kenmore West at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Nichols, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Randolph at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
