Basketball Recap: Borger Takes a Loss

Borger was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 14th straight loss. They took a blow against the Canyon Eagles, falling 74-24. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1246th, while the Eagles are ranked 408th).

Despite the loss, Borger still got an impressive performance from Tahqulin Brooks, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 12 boards. That was a full 45.8% of Borger's points, marking the 16th time in a row he's posted more than a third of the team's points.

Borger's defeat dropped their record down to 2-20. As for Canyon, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-13.

Borger will welcome Perryton at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Canyon, they are taking a road trip to challenge West Plains at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
