Baseball Recap: Freeport Comes Up Short

If Freeport was riding high fresh off their 10-0 takedown of Fort Walton Beach last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Freeport Bulldogs took an 8-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Chipley Tigers on Friday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bulldogs of the 7-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Freeport saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Carson Vogler, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Freeport's defeat dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Chipley, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Freeport will challenge Lighthouse Private Christian Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Chipley, they will square off against Walton at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
