Baseball Recap: Belmont Takes a Loss

It was a proper cat-fight when Belmont duked it out with Baldwyn on Monday. The Cardinals lost 11-1 to the Bearcats. The Cardinals were not able to make up for their loss to the Bearcats from their previous meeting back in April of 2023.

Belmont saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Miller Searcy, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base. Searcy has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played.

Belmont has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 12 of their last 13 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-17 record this season. As for Baldwyn, their victory bumped their record up to 15-8-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Belmont will head out to square off against Mars Hill Bible at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Cardinals are facing the Panthers at the right time seeing as the Panthers are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Baldwyn, they will take on Pine Grove at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bearcats will need to watch out since the Panthers have now posted at least ten runs in their last three games.
