Baseball Recap: Springfield Drops Season-High Score on Lincoln

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Springfield). Everything went their way against the Lincoln Railsplitters on Tuesday as they made off with a 12-1 win. The Senators haven't had any issues with the Railsplitters recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.

The team relied heavily on Wade Snyder, who scored three runs while going 2-for-3. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jeffrey Sturm, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Snyder wasn't the only one making solid contact: Springfield kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in three consecutive matchups.

Springfield's win bumped their record up to 4-8. As for Lincoln, their loss dropped their record down to 5-10.

Looking ahead, Springfield will be playing at home against Lanphier at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Senators are facing the Lions at the right time seeing as the Lions are stuck on a nine-game losing streak. As for Lincoln, they will head out to challenge Champaign Central at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
