Recap: Nitro Wildcats vs. South Charleston Black Eagles
The Nitro Wildcats can now show off seven landslide victories after their most recent contest on Tuesday. They blew past South Charleston 75-37 at home. Winning may never get old, but Nitro sure is getting used to it with their fifth in a row.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Nitro to victory, but perhaps none more so than Hailey Newsome, who scored seven points along with four steals. Makynzie Casto was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Nitro pushed their record up to 15-3 with that win, which was their ninth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.7 points per game. As for South Charleston, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-14.
Nitro won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Hoover at 7:00 p.m. on February 7th. Hopefully Nitro is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Hoover in West Virginia (Nitro is ranked seventh, while Hoover is ranked 82nd). South Charleston's road trip will continue as they head out to face Huntington at 7:00 p.m. on February 10th.
