The Fall River Pirates will face off against the Markesan Hornets at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Fall River will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
While Fall River's victory against Pardeeville wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Pirates skirted past the Bulldogs 3-2.
Fall River took Pardeeville into a fifth set where they got it done with a ten-point win. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-17, 22-25, 11-25, 15-5.

Dana Dykstra went supernova, getting eight digs and seven aces. Those seven aces gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Aili Majocka, who had ten digs.
They weren't the only good servers: Fall River was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 18 aces. They are a perfect 7-0 when they serve at least ten aces.
Meanwhile, Markesan made easy work of Pardeeville on Thursday and carried off a 3-0 win. The Hornets haven't had any issues with the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.
While Markesan won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the third set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-16, 25-23.
Markesan's win bumped their record up to 9-18. As for Fall River, their victory bumped their record up to 12-10.
Fall River took their win against Markesan in their previous matchup back in September of 2024 by a conclusive 3-0 score. Will the Pirates repeat their success, or do the Hornets have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
