Soccer Recap: Benjamin Franklin Extends Winning Streak to 14

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Benjamin Franklin had no problem doing just that on Wednesday. They never let the Page Sand Devils onto the board and left with an 8-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Chargers, who have now won 14 matches by three goals or more so far this season.

Their offense was hitting Page from everywhere, as seven different players booted in a goal. Reina Ley led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by herself.

The victory (which was Benjamin Franklin's 14th in a row) raised their record to 16-1. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up four goals over those 14 games. As for Page, their defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-7.

Benjamin Franklin wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and has already played their next contest, a 4-1 win against Safford on the 15th. Page does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
