Basketball Recap: Floydada Comes Up Short

Floydada was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were beaten by the Abernathy Antelopes 85-44. While losing is never fun, the Whirlwinds can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1331st, while the Antelopes are ranked 483rd).

Floydada's defeat dropped their record down to 6-20. As for Abernathy, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 24-7.

Coming up, Floydada will be playing in front of their home fans against Ralls at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Abernathy, they will challenge New Home at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Antelopes will need to watch out since the Leopards have now posted at least 55 points in their last seven contests.
