Football Recap: Palmetto Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Palmetto can now relate to. They took a blow against the Belton-Honea Path Bears on Friday, falling 56-7. Having soared to a lofty 31 points in the game before, the Mustangs couldn't push the score so high this time.

Kaleb Ricketts threw for 36 yards on six of 14 attempts.

Belton-Honea Path was led to victory by Noah Thomas and Mj Earl. Thomas threw for 134 yards and four touchdowns while completing 81.8% of his passes, while Earl rushed for 107 yards and a pair of scores on only seven carries. Thomas has been hot recently, having posted four or more passing touchdowns the last three times he's played. Belton-Honea Path also got help from Tajeh Watson-Martin, who showed off his sure hands for 82 receiving yards.

Palmetto is on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-10. As for Belton-Honea Path, the win keeps them at an undefeated 11-0.

Palmetto does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Belton-Honea Path, they will host Southside Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Bears will need to watch out since the Sabres have now posted at least 31 points in their last three contests.
