Basketball Recap: Southern Missouri RUSH Comes Up Short

On Monday, Southern Missouri RUSH came up short against the Red River Rattlers and fell 66-53. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Southern Missouri RUSH came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 141st in Missouri, while Red River is ranked 337th in Texas).

Red River got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Corban Tyler out in front who posted 30 points along with six rebounds and six steals. Red River is 19-4 when Tyler posts 15 or more points, but 4-7 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Elijah Cleary, who went 5-for-7 on his way to 16 points in addition to seven boards and three steals.

Southern Missouri RUSH's defeat dropped their record down to 27-14. As for Red River, they moved to 23-11 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Southern Missouri RUSH has already played their next contest, a 74-48 win against MidTex HomeSchool on the 11th. As for Red River, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 55-53 victory against Fort Worth THESA on the 11th.
