Tara took down Reed 56-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Lutcher made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 4,582 from 4,695. The improvement was largely due to a 56-6 victory over Belaire last week.
The Bulldogs' offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. CHRISTIAN MATHERNE threw for 98 and 2 touchdowns and GAVIN ENGLADE had 35 yards receiving. On the ground Kendric Jackson chipped in 40 yards. DESTIN PORTER helped Lutcher's passing attack out by catching 3 balls for 36 yards.
ENGLADE was the best receiver in 4A District 6 this week as Lutcher defeated the Bengals. ENGLADE racked up 2 receptions for 35 yards. PORTER helped Lutcher's passing attack out by catching 3 balls for 36 yards.
Lutcher's offense cannot be tamed this season and the Bulldogs feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. MATHERNE has thrown for 887 yards and 11 touchdowns this season, while PORTER has 23 catches for 369 yards.
The top two teams in the league will face off this week when first place Plaquemine takes on second place Tara. Last week, Plaquemine topped St. Michael, while the Trojans bested the Olympians.
Tara led the league in scoring this week by notching 56 points on Reed.
