Softball Recap: Schurr Gets the Win

Schurr posted their closest victory since April 18, 2024 on Saturday. They had just enough and edged out the Valley View Eagles 4-2. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Spartans.

Sarah Cervantes was excellent, going 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Mia Gonzales, who scored two runs while going 2-for-2.

Schurr always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .619. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Valley View only posted an OBP of .353.

Schurr's win bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Valley View, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-2.

Schurr's road trip will continue as they head out to face Crean Lutheran at 12:40 p.m. on Saturday. The last three games Crean Lutheran has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Valley View, they will head out on the road to take on Beaumont at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
