Baseball Recap: El Camino Extends Winning Streak to Four

El Camino had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Maranatha Christian on Monday. The Wildcats were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Eagles. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won four games by seven runs or more so far this season.

Max Bell looked comfortable as he pitched four innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (four).

On the hitting side, Ethan Stelzer was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with four RBI and one double. Nate Paopao was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

El Camino was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .393. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Maranatha Christian only posted a batting average of .263.

The victory (which was El Camino's fourth in a row) raised their record to 8-2. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.3 runs over those games. As for Maranatha Christian, they are on a ten-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-9.
