Softball Game Preview: West Morris Central Wolfpack vs. Morristown Colonials

For the first time this season, West Morris Central will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will be playing in front of their home fans against the Morristown Colonials at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. West Morris Central is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last three games.

West Morris Central's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They came out on top against Whippany Park by a score of 3-0. Those three runs were actually the fewest the Wolfpack have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.

Meanwhile, Morristown hadn't done well against Montville recently (they were 1-7 in their previous eight matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Colonials walked away with a 10-7 win over the Mustangs. Morristown's victory was all the more impressive since the Mustangs were averaging only three runs allowed on the season.

Morristown now has a winning record of 2-1. As for West Morris Central, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

West Morris Central couldn't quite finish off Morristown when the teams last played back in May of 2024 and fell 2-0. Can the Wolfpack avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
