Soccer Game Preview: Oak Harbor vs. Nooksack Valley

The Oak Harbor Wildcats will head out on the road to face off against the Nooksack Valley Pioneers at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Oak Harbor will be strutting in after a win while Nooksack Valley will be coming in after a defeat.

Oak Harbor barely beat Blaine the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Wildcats put the hurt on the Borderites with a sharp 5-1 victory on Friday. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for Oak Harbor considering their one-goal performance the matchup before.

Meanwhile, Nooksack Valley fell victim to Bellingham and their airtight defense on Friday. They came up short against the Bayhawks, falling 5-0. Nooksack Valley have struggled against Bellingham recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Nooksack Valley's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Oak Harbor, their win bumped their record up to 2-0.

Everything went Oak Harbor's way against Nooksack Valley in their previous matchup back in March of 2025, as Oak Harbor made off with a 6-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wildcats since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
