After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Moberly, Northeast was happy to have turned things around on Monday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Slater Wildcats an 8-0 shutout. The Bearcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matches by eight runs or more this season.

Northeast's victory bumped their record up to 8-4. As for Slater, they now have a losing record of 5-6.

The future could be bright for both Northeast and Slater: their next opponents haven't had the best luck recently. The Bearcats will try to hand La Plata their third-straight defeat when the two meet at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Slater will look to extend New Franklin's three-game losing streak when they meet at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
