Basketball Recap: Shelby-Rising City Huskies vs. Fullerton Warriors
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Exeter-Milligan/Friend, Shelby-Rising City was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They managed a 45-40 win over the Fullerton Warriors. This was payback for the Huskies, who suffered a 48-37 loss the last time these two teams met.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Shelby-Rising City to victory, but perhaps none more so than Taya Pinneo, who posted 20 points in addition to five boards and four steals. That makes it six consecutive games in which Pinneo has scored at least a third of Shelby-Rising City's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaleigh Ruth, who went 5 for 9 on her way to 16 points and six rebounds.
