Basketball Recap: Canton Continues Road Dominance on Friday

Canton extended their road winning streak to seven games thanks to a huge performance from Shamira Morton. The Canton Tigers snuck past the Yazoo City Indians with a 42-37 victory on Friday thanks in part to Morton, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 12 boards. Morton is crushing it when it comes to rebounds: she's pulled down at least eight every time she's taken the court this season.

Journee Brown was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on 14 points and nine boards. Those 14 points gave her a new career-high.

Canton is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 20-5 record this season. As for Yazoo City, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-6.

Canton will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Cleveland Central at 6:00 p.m. As for Yazoo City, they are taking a road trip to challenge Holmes County Central at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
