Basketball Recap: Shaw Summer Key Part of a Team Effort in Green Devils Win

On Thursday, the St. Petersburg Green Devils beat the Hackettstown Tigers 47-37. That's two games straight that the Green Devils have won by exactly ten points.

St. Petersburg got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Shaw Summer out in front who dropped a triple-double on 15 points, 17 rebounds, and ten blocks. Summer is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as she's now posted two or more in the last 12 games she's played. Another player making a difference was Mckenzie Bell, who went 6 for 14 en route to 16 points.

St. Petersburg is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season. As for Hackettstown, they have also traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. Petersburg and Sunlake will face off at 6:30 p.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played. Sunlake will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something St. Petersburg surely won't give up without a fight. As for Hackettstown, they will take on Jefferson Township at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
