Baseball Game Preview: Hillcrest Huskies vs. Tooele Buffaloes

For the second straight game, Hillcrest will face off against Tooele. The Huskies will host the Buffaloes at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Hillcrest has now lost ten straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since March 17.

Hillcrest came up short against Tooele on Wednesday, falling 15-1.

For Tooele's part, Luis Garcia was a major factor no matter where he played. He tossed five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. The dominant performance also gave Garcia a new career-high in strikeouts (three). He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, Tooele got a massive performance out of Gabe Sutherland, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-4. That's the most stolen bases Sutherland has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Ethan Jenkins, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3.

Tooele kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in ten consecutive matches.

Tooele's victory bumped their record up to 5-12. As for Hillcrest, their loss dropped their record down to 2-14.
