Softball Recap: Beardstown Takes a Loss

Beardstown lost against Illini West back in March, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Tigers fell just short of the Chargers by a score of 7-6.

Vanessa Nu?ez was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in two of her four plate appearances. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Lauren Coats also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Beardstown's loss dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Illini West, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-9.

Coincidentally, Beardstown and Illini West will both be playing Liberty the next time they take the field. The Tigers will head out to face the Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, while the Chargers will head out to face them at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
