Softball Recap: Goddard Now 7-1 over Last Eight Games

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Los Lunas, Goddard was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They blew past the Robertson Cardinals 7-1. The Rockets might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matches by six runs or more this season.

Lindsay Campa was incredible, scoring a run while going 3-for-3. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in RBI (three). Jorelianis Guzman was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-2.

Goddard was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Robertson only posted a batting average of .273.

Goddard is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 8-4 record this season. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to hits: they averaged an imposing 10.75 hits in those games compared to only 5.25 in the others. Robertson is on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Goddard didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 6-2 defeat against Dexter on the 25th. As for Robertson, they have also already played their next match, a 15-2 victory against Pojoaque Valley on the 25th.
