Basketball Recap: St. Ignatius Piles Up the Points Against Mckinley

St. Ignatius extended their postseason success on Saturday against McKinley. They claimed a resounding 73-46 victory over the McKinley Bulldogs. The Wildcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Despite the loss, McKinley still got an impressive performance from Reed Sims Jr, who went 7-for-13 on his way to 21 points in addition to five boards and three blocks. Sims Jr is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last six games he's played. Jayveion Carter was another key player, putting up nine points.

St. Ignatius has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 14 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-4 record this season. With the defeat, McKinley broke their six-game winning streak and moved their record to 20-6.

Coming up, St. Ignatius will challenge Olentangy Orange at 12:00 p.m. on March 16th. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Olentangy Orange sitting on 13 straight wins and St. Ignatius on five. McKinley does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
