Basketball Game Preview: L.C. Bird Skyhawks vs. Lightridge Bolts

The L.C. Bird Skyhawks will face off against the Lightridge Bolts at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. L.C. Bird will be looking to extend their current nine-game winning streak.

L.C. Bird is returning to their home court after beating Fleming on theirs, despite the fact Fleming has dominated at home this season. L.C. Bird snuck past Fleming with a 55-50 win on Friday. That's two games straight that the Skyhawks have won by exactly five points.

L.C. Bird found their leader in sophomore Kylie Kent, who went 9-for-15 en route to 20 points in addition to eight rebounds and three blocks. Another player making a difference was Kamari Simon, who posted ten points and seven boards.

Meanwhile, despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Lightridge couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They took a 50-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Panthers on Friday.

L.C. Bird pushed their record up to 21-5 with the victory, which was their ninth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.8 points over those games. As for Lightridge, their loss dropped their record down to 18-9.
