The win was all the more spectacular given the Bobcats' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 631st, while the Hornets are ranked 254th).

Benbrook has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season. As for Gatesville, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-5.
