Concordia and Clay Center are an even 4-4 against one another since October of 2014, but not for long. A feisty cat fight will be fought when Panthers takes on the Clay Center Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Concordia is no doubt hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.

Concordia is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They blew past Chapman 42-22 on Friday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Panthers needed considering they were shutout in their previous matchup.

Drake Blochlinger was nothing short of spectacular: he rushed for 152 yards and four touchdowns, and also threw for 94 yards and two touchdowns. He didn't just play on offense: he also made four total tackles and defended a pass.

Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Concordia was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 211 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in October of 2023.

On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Concordia's defense and their four sacks. Chapman's QB won't forget Tracer Murdock anytime soon given he sacked him 2.5 times. Dane Cleveland was another major factor on D, picking up 0.5 sacks and making 21 total tackles (2.0 for loss).

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Clay Center's offense. They lost 21-0 to Rock Creek on Friday. The contest marked the first time this year in which the Tigers were not able to get on the board.

The win snapped Concordia's losing streak at six games dating back to last season and leaves them with a 1-4 record. As for Clay Center, they now have a losing record at 2-3.
