Overton snaps four-game streak of wins on the road

Recap: Overton Wolverines vs. White Station Spartans

After a string of ten wins, the Overton Wolverines's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They took a 51-38 hit to the loss column at the hands of White Station. Overton has not had much luck with White Station recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.

Several Wolverines players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kierra Baldwin, who scored 15 points along with two steals. That was a full 39.5% of Overton's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Tyiesha Hollimon, who scored six points along with five rebounds.

White Station's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Lalia Willis, who scored 11 points along with three steals. Zamiya Riley was another key contributor, scoring five points along with three steals and two blocks.

Overton's defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-2. As for White Station, they now have a winning record of 10-9.

Overton will be playing at home against Kingsbury at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Kingsbury will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Tennessee Rankings (they are ranked 379th, while Overton is ranked 160th). As for White Station, they will head out on the road to take on Whitehaven at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Whitehaven will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak alive.
