Baseball Recap: Mesilla Valley Christian School's Win on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Mesilla Valley Christian School barely beat Capitan the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The SonBlazers were the clear victors by a 25-0 margin over the Tigers on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the SonBlazers, who have now won five matchups by nine runs or more so far this season.

Jeremiah Sullivan made a splash while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out seven over five innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with three stolen bases and one RBI.

In other batting news, Mesilla Valley Christian School got a massive performance out of Zach Beasley, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and four RBI. That's the most RBI Beasley has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Kobe Redfearn, who went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, five RBI, and three runs.

Mesilla Valley Christian School was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .622. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

The victory was the fourth in a row for Mesilla Valley Christian School, bringing their record up to 7-3. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.5 runs over those games. As for Capitan, their loss was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-9.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mesilla Valley Christian School will host Mescalero Apache at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Capitan, they will be playing at home against Lordsburg at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Tigers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Mavericks have averaged an impressive 12.3 runs per game this season.
