Volleyball Recap: Triad Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Claire Buger and Josie Stottler

Triad was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Breese Central Cougars. The Knights were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cougars apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

Triad started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. The final score came out to 19-25, 25-22, 15-10.

Josie Stottler and Claire Buger certainly did their best on Saturday to avoid the loss. Stottler had 14 digs and two assists, while Buger had three digs and three aces. Tessa Brantley also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Triad's defeat dropped their record down to 17-15. As for Breese Central, their win bumped their record up to 22-9.

Coming up, Triad will be playing at home against Jersey at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Breese Central, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 2-0 victory against Montini Catholic on the 18th.
