Basketball Recap: Stanton Comes Up Short

Stanton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They were two points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 57-55 heartbreaker at the hands of the Bloomfield Bees.

Despite the loss, Stanton still got an impressive performance from Barrett Wilke, who went 7 for 17 on his way to 25 points. Wilke's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Aaxel Spence, who posted eight points.

Bloomfield was led to victory by Benjamin Dodge and Beau Eisenhauer. Dodge earned 21 points, while Eisenhauer had 19 points. The dominant performance gave Dodge a new career-high in points. Keldon Loecker was another key player, putting up nine points.

Stanton's loss dropped their record down to 1-16. As for Bloomfield, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-11.

Stanton has already played their next contest, a 60-27 defeat against Bancroft-Rosalie on the 1st. As for Bloomfield, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 43-36 victory against Tri County Northeast on the 1st.
