Baseball Game Preview: Lake Brantley Patriots vs. Lake Mary Rams

Lake Brantley and Lake Mary are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2022, but likely not for long. The Patriots will square off against the Rams at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Lake Brantley's pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so Lake Mary's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Lake Brantley is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They won by a run and slipped past Apopka 5-4. The victory continues a trend for the Patriots in their matchups with the Blue Darters: they've now won nine in a row.

Elijah Guzman looked comfortable as he tossed 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Andrew Barr was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run. Another player making a difference was Cameron Penney, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lake Mary). Everything went their way against West Orange on Tuesday as they made off with a 17-7 win. The victory was nothing new for the Rams as they're now sitting on three straight.

Lake Mary now has a winning record of 14-13. As for Lake Brantley, their win bumped their record up to 16-9-1.

Lake Brantley skirted past Lake Mary 5-4 when the teams last played back in March. Will the Patriots repeat their success, or do the Rams have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
