Volleyball Game Preview: Marina Vikings vs. Los Alamitos Griffins

Marina is 0-10 against Los Alamitos since September of 2017 but things could change on Wednesday. The Vikings will take on the Griffins at 5:45 p.m.

On Monday, Marina came up short against Corona del Mar and fell 3-1.

The defeat didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Corona del Mar scored at least 19 points in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 20-25, 25-20, 25-19.

Meanwhile, Los Alamitos faced Newport Harbor in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. The Griffins blew past the Sailors 3-0. Winning may never get old, but the Griffins sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Los Alamitos was especially dominant in the first set. The final score came out to 25-15, 25-20, 25-20.

Los Alamitos' win bumped their record up to 24-8. As for Marina, their loss dropped their record down to 18-10.

Marina might still be hurting after the 3-0 defeat they got from Los Alamitos when the teams last played back in September. Can the Vikings avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
