Pace Academy faced Midtown in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. Pace Academy came out on top against Midtown by a score of 2-0. The victory continues a trend for Pace Academy in their matchups with Midtown: they've now won three in a row.

The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-17.

Lawson Monroe paced Pace Academy's offense, picking up 13 kills. Monroe got some help from Olivia Siskin and her 13 assists. Siskin was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Pace Academy's win bumped their record up to 20-7. As for Midtown, their loss ended a six-match streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 25-9.

Coincidentally, Pace Academy and Midtown will both be playing Mays the next time they take the court. Pace Academy will head out to face Mays at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, while Midtown will play them later in the day, at 7:30 p.m.
