Basketball Recap: Henry-Senachwine Takes a Loss

Henry-Senachwine lost against Roanoke-Benson back in February, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Henry-Senachwine Mallards fell to the Roanoke-Benson Rockets 46-42. While losing is never fun, the Mallards can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 448th, while the Rockets are ranked 53rd).

When it comes to explaining why Henry-Senachwine lost, don't look at Lauren Harbison. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 20 points and 11 steals. Harbison is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaitlyn Anderson, who almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine rebounds.

Henry-Senachwine has traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-7 record this season. As for Roanoke-Benson, the win keeps them at an undefeated 9-0.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Henry-Senachwine won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Galva at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Roanoke-Benson, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Seneca at 7:00 p.m. Roanoke-Benson's defense has only allowed 27.9 points per game this season, so Seneca's offense will have their work cut out for them.
