Basketball Game Preview: Ardmore Tigers vs. Plainview Indians

The Ardmore Tigers will challenge the Plainview Indians at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Ardmore heads in on the heels of a playoff contest on Saturday. They came up short against Pauls Valley, falling 60-34. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 326th, while the Panthers are ranked 66th).

Meanwhile, Plainview can bid farewell to their six-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They took their game with ease, bagging a 51-24 win over Sulphur. That 27-point margin sets a new team best for the Indians this season.

Ardmore better focus on containing Abby Chaney and Allie Wood as the pair were huge in Plainview's win. Chaney shot 46% from the field en route to 17 points along with seven boards and three blocks, while Wood went 5-for-6 to rack up 15 points and five rebounds. Those 15 points gave Wood a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kamrey Martin, who posted ten points.

Plainview was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Plainview's victory bumped their record up to 6-14. As for Ardmore, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-18.

Ardmore might still be hurting after the 57-37 loss they got from Plainview in their previous matchup back in January. Can the Tigers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
