Football Game Preview: Tahlequah vs. Memorial

Tahlequah will take on Memorial at home at 7:00 PM on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, Tahlequah and Memorial will really light up the scoreboard.

While not quite a landslide, the contest between Tahlequah and East Central last Thursday was still a pretty decisive one as Tahlequah wrapped it up with a 41-22 win. Tahlequah's success was spearheaded by the efforts of junior Tate Christian, who passed for 199 yards and 4 touchdowns, and junior Dae Dae Leathers, who rushed for 126 yards and 2 touchdowns. One of the most thrilling moments of the matchup was Leathers's 70-yard TD reception in the first quarter.

Meanwhile, Memorial have had to suffer through a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They made easy work of Will Rogers College and carried off a 37-7 victory. The lopsided score is just par for the course this season for Memorial, who can brag about three blowout wins.

Tahlequah didn't have too much trouble with Memorial the last time the two teams met as they won 56-40. Since neither squad is a stranger to landslide victories this season, you'd better bet it will be hard-fought showdown.
