Basketball Recap: Northland Prep Academy's Luck Changes for the Better on Monday

Northland Prep Academy needed a changed in momentum after dropping ten straight games and they got it from Annabelle Jackson. The Northland Prep Academy Spartans were the clear victor by a 48-22 margin over the BASIS Flagstaff Yetis on Monday thanks in part to Jackson, who almost dropped a double-double on 13 points and nine steals. Those 13 points gave her a new career-high.

The team also got some help courtesy of Ellysia Martinez, who posted eight points in addition to ten steals and eight boards. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 2.7 steals per game.

BASIS Flagstaff lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Jasmine Hall, who put up six points along with seven rebounds and four steals. Hall has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Maleea Moebes, who scored four points and five steals.

Northland Prep Academy's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-10. As for BASIS Flagstaff, they are on a 16-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-10.

Northland Prep Academy has already played their next match, a 53-19 defeat against Many Farms on the 16th. As for BASIS Flagstaff, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 58-30 loss against Williams on the 14th.
