Basketball Recap: Santa Fe Extends Home Winning Streak to Five

Santa Fe had won four straight home games and Hannah Doerre did her part to make it five on Friday. The Santa Fe Indians simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Texas City Stingarees 76-33 thanks in part to Doerre, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 21 rebounds. She is on a roll when it comes to boards, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last 13 games she's played.

Hayven Martinez was another key player, going 6 for 9 en route to 15 points. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in points.

Several Stingarees players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Vasia Farris, who posted five points along with five rebounds and four steals. Another player making a difference was Zhyria Evans, who earned 14 points and six boards.

Santa Fe is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-13 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.6 points per game. As for Texas City, they are on a 13-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-22.

Santa Fe has already played their next game, a 64-56 loss against Ball on the 4th. As for Texas City, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 63-40 defeat against Angleton on the 4th.
