After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Fruita Monument, Vista PEAK Prep was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They blew past the Alameda Pirates 18-0. The Bison's hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Eli Garcia tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only two hits over five innings pitched.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Domenic Montoya, who got on base in all five of his plate appearances with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double. Those RBI were his first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Cole Redmond, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

Vista PEAK Prep always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .632. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Vista PEAK Prep's record now sits at 2-3. As for Alameda, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.

Looking ahead, Vista PEAK Prep will be taking part in a tournament against Valley at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Alameda, they will look to defend their home field on Saturday against Northridge at 10:00 a.m.
