Basketball Game Preview: Prentice Buccaneers vs. Stratford Tigers

The Prentice Buccaneers will head out on the road to take on the Stratford Tigers at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Stratford took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Prentice, who comes in off a win.

Prentice was handed a 37-point defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-0 victory over Abbotsford. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Buccaneers as it put an end to their five-game losing streak.

Meanwhile, Stratford entered their game against Marathon on Tuesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Tigers fell 51-46 to the Red Raiders. Tigers fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against the Red Raiders since Tuesday.

Prentice's victory bumped their record up to 7-13. As for Stratford, their loss dropped their record down to 18-3.

Things could have been worse for Prentice, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 44-26 loss to Stratford in their previous matchup back in December of 2024. Can the Buccaneers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
