Union Academy piles up the points against Albemarle

Recap: Union Academy Cardinals vs. Albemarle Bulldogs

The Union Academy Cardinals's three-game losing streak came to an end on Wednesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Albemarle 75-35 at home. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 31-11.

Aidan Scruitsky was his usual excellent self, scoring 23 points along with eight rebounds. That's the first time this season that he pulled down eight or more rebounds. Another player making a difference was Ethan Rangolan, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds and three blocks.

Union Academy's victory ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-11. As for Albemarle, they bumped their record down to 0-12 with that loss, which was their seventh straight on the road.

Union Academy will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Charlotte Latin at 7:30 p.m. Charlotte Latin presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Union Academy in North Carolina (Charlotte Latin is ranked 177th, while Union Academy is ranked 546th). As for Albemarle, they will head out on the road to challenge Mount Pleasant at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
