Soccer Game Preview: Fuquay - Varina vs. South Garner + Official Tickets

The Fuquay - Varina Bengals will challenge the South Garner Titans at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Fuquay - Varina will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

While Fuquay - Varina's victory against Smithfield-Selma wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Bengals sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over the Spartans on Wednesday. The final result isn't all that surprising considering Fuquay - Varina's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 127th, while Smithfield-Selma are ranked 322nd).

Meanwhile, South Garner fought the good fight in their overtime contest against Garner on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Trojans by a score of 2-1. South Garner have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Their goal came courtesy of Antonio LLanos, which was the first he's scored this season.

South Garner's defeat dropped their record down to 6-13-2. As for Fuquay - Varina, their victory bumped their record up to 11-6-3.

Fuquay - Varina beat South Garner 4-2 when the teams last played on October 1st. Will the Bengals repeat their success, or do the Titans have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
