Volleyball Recap: Canyon Has No Trouble Against Clemens

Canyon won the last time they faced Clemens and things went their way on Friday too. The Cougars put the hurt on the Buffaloes with a sharp 3-0 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Cougars.

The final score came out to 25-13, 25-8, 25-19.

Marlee Lightsey paced Canyon's offense, picking up 16 kills. Lightsey got some help from Logan Sanders and her 29 assists. Gabriela Anna Etter controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

When it comes to explaining why Clemens lost, don't look at McKenna Brumgard. Despite the final result, she had ten digs and five assists.

Canyon's victory bumped their record up to 27-13. As for Clemens, their loss dropped their record down to 16-20.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Canyon is set to face off against their familiar foe East Central at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Clemens will challenge rival Johnson at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
