Basketball Recap: San Benito Greyhounds vs. Harlingen Cardinals

San Benito extended their losing streak to four on Friday, dropping them down to 7-18. They lost to the Harlingen Cardinals at home by a 63-44 margin. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cardinals this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 60-52 back in December of 2025.

As for Harlingen, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 22-8. Given their advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 325th, while San Benito is ranked 1161st) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Harlingen can attribute much of their success to Jeremy Bedford, who posted 21 points. Those 21 points gave Bedford a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Leroy Eufracio, who put up 11 points.
